Comining in May Solo Show at KS Wild Gallery & Offices

Juror for the Art About AgricuLture annual exhibiton; Sponsored by Oregon State University. I am honored to have been invited to be one of the five jurors for this exhibition.  Each year the show explores a different aspect of the importance of Agriculture, and the ways in which it is affected and affects climate, society at large, and Oregon in particular.  UofO in Corvalis, OR selects pieces each year for purchase to hold in the Fine Art Collection it maintains, and purchase awards are also selected each year to honor some of the artists who submit work.  Artist in Oregon and the other Northwest states are invited to submit work to be juried each January.

May KS Wild Gallery and offices hosted a Group show of our work from the CSNM ( Cascade-Siskiyou National Mounment.  Each summer I take a small group of painters on location into the CSNM to bring attention to the importance of BioDiversity and the value that the wild lands of the Monument with it’s unique qualities of bioDiversity.  We explore imagery tht helps to convey these aspects that reflect how the unique overlapping of three mountain ranges created this diversity through the unusual combination of soils from the eruptions and earth movements millions of years ago.  It is because of these unusual soils that the unique combinations of plants, trees, insects, water and elevations mingle and formed.  Rock formtions are unique to each area and serve as a visual display of the foundations the area is built on.
